# Terms of Use **Effective date:** July 23, 2026 The Oracle offers a contemplative encounter with the I Ching. It can help you notice patterns and possibilities; it cannot make decisions, guarantee outcomes, or replace qualified human care. ## Agreement These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Sunny Systems governing your use of The Oracle app, its reflection service, and related legal website. By downloading, accessing, purchasing through, or using The Oracle, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. The app is licensed through Apple under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”). These terms supplement that agreement. If these terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA about the app license, the Apple Standard EULA controls. If you are under the age of legal majority, a parent or guardian must review and agree to these terms and supervise your use. The service is not directed to children under 13. ## A reflective tool, not professional advice The Oracle presents I Ching material and optional AI-generated reflections for personal contemplation and entertainment. Divination and AI outputs are interpretive, may be incomplete or wrong, and do not predict the future or establish facts. Do not rely on The Oracle as medical, mental-health, legal, financial, safety, emergency, or other professional advice. Use your own judgment and consult a qualified professional where a decision could materially affect health, rights, money, safety, or another person. If you may be in danger or experiencing an emergency, contact appropriate local emergency services. ## License and acceptable use Subject to these terms and the Apple Standard EULA, Sunny Systems grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use The Oracle on supported Apple devices that you own or control. - Do not use the service unlawfully, to harm or deceive others, or to violate another person’s rights. - Do not probe, attack, overload, bypass, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the app, service, security controls, purchase systems, or usage limits except where applicable law expressly permits it. - Do not automate requests, resell access, impersonate others, introduce malicious code, or use the service to develop a competing model or dataset without our written permission. - Do not submit content you lack the right to use, or highly sensitive information that is unnecessary for a reading. ## Your content You retain your rights in the topics, notes, and other content you enter. You give Sunny Systems a limited permission to process that content only as needed to provide an action you request, such as generating an AI reflection, operating the service, preventing abuse, or complying with law. You are responsible for your content and for deciding what to submit. Do not include another person’s confidential or personal information without an appropriate basis to do so. ## AI-generated reflections AI reflections are generated with third-party technology and can vary even for similar requests. We do not promise that an output will be accurate, unique, complete, suitable for a particular purpose, or free from content you find objectionable. You remain responsible for how you interpret and use a reflection. We may adjust models, prompts, limits, and safeguards as the service evolves. The Privacy Policy explains what is sent to the AI provider when you request a reflection. ## In-app purchases and stalks The Oracle may offer one-time purchases of consumable digital credits called stalks. Prices and applicable taxes appear in the App Store purchase sheet before you confirm. Apple processes the transaction under its terms. Purchases are final except where Apple’s policies or applicable law provide otherwise; refund requests must be made through Apple. Stalks have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and are not a bank account, stored-value account, investment, or cryptocurrency. They are licensed only for eligible actions inside The Oracle. Availability across devices can depend on using the same Apple account, supported iCloud settings, network access, and compatible app versions. We may offer complimentary weekly stalks or other gifts. Complimentary items have no cash value and may be changed or discontinued. We will not remove stalks already validly purchased except to correct fraud, chargebacks, errors, or abuse, or where law requires it. Please read it before submitting personal material or requesting an AI reflection. [Read the Privacy Policy](/privacy) ## Our content and intellectual property The app, design, software, original text, visual elements, trademarks, and other Sunny Systems materials are owned by Sunny Systems or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. Historical or third-party materials remain subject to their respective rights and terms. These terms do not transfer ownership to you. You may not reproduce, publish, commercially exploit, or create derivative products from protected parts of The Oracle except as the app permits or applicable law allows. ## Third-party services The Oracle depends on services provided by Apple, OpenAI, hosting providers, and other operators described in the Privacy Policy. Their services may have separate terms and policies. Sunny Systems does not control third-party systems and is not responsible for them beyond obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded. ## Availability and changes We aim to keep The Oracle dependable, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Features can be unavailable because of maintenance, networks, provider outages, device limitations, legal requirements, or events beyond our reasonable control. We may improve, limit, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. If a change materially affects purchased digital credits, we will take reasonable steps consistent with applicable law and Apple’s rules. ## Disclaimers To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Oracle and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or results. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Warranty responsibilities and remedies are allocated as stated in the Apple Standard EULA and applicable law. ## Limitation of liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sunny Systems and its owners, workers, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use The Oracle. Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for The Oracle during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $50. These limits do not apply where prohibited, including liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Your local consumer law may give you additional rights. ## Suspension and termination You may stop using The Oracle at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to online features if you materially violate these terms, threaten the service or others, create legal risk, or misuse purchases or technical systems. Where reasonable, we will tailor the action to the problem. Terms that by their nature should continue—such as ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and accrued payment obligations—survive termination. ## Changes and general terms We may revise these terms as the service or law changes. We will post the new version and update the effective date, and we will provide additional notice where reasonably required. Continuing to use the service after the revised terms take effect means you accept them. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Apple Standard EULA are the complete agreement about your use of The Oracle, except for rights that applicable law does not allow us to change.
